Breeding Programme

Waverley Station Angus bulls are the outcome of a selective breeding programme over the past 15 years – a programme involving the introduction of modern genetics into a traditional Hazeldean and Te Mania base herd. It is a programme that has involved extensive and continuing assessment within a herd of approximately 700 performance-recorded breeders at Waverley Station, in addition to our commercial herd.

Waverley Station's breeding objective is to produce functional, fertile cattle for a range of markets, with the ability to perform off grass and in feedlots. Our judgement is based on our experience from selling annually, from Scone and King Island, some 5,000 Waverley owned cattle bred for a diversity of markets
